Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation has a Hurricane Preparedness and Response Guide which helps your avoid fraud after a storm by allowing you to check on the license status of those advertising their services.

Workers you hire must have current Florida License for:  Roof Repairs, Roof replacement, Installing new windows, plumbing repairs, and electrical repairs.

No License is required to remove a fallen tree, trimming, debris removal, placing a trap on a roof.
